Situated in the popular Victorian tourist town of Crieff, Rubys Cottage is a detached holiday home at the entrance to the farm and just 5 minutes’ walk to the centre of the town. Situated on a quiet lane the bright accommodation is beautifully presented throughout and provides an ideal base for couples and families. The spacious open plan living area is the hub of the cottage where everyone can gather together, it has comfortable seating and a wood burner to gather around, the contemporary well-equipped kitchen is where you can prepare a family meal and then sit round the dining table and plan the next day’s activities. A handy utility room, perfect for storing outdoor clothing leads to the cloak room, a master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower room. There are two further well-presented bedrooms with kingsize beds and a family bathroom on the first floor. Stepping out into the garden from the patio door in the living area you have an enclosed garden with garden furniture, an ideal spot for al-fresco dining or relaxing with a glass of wine.
If you are planning to eat out on your holiday Crieff has a varied selection of places to eat, an excellent deli and café selling local produce if you are planning to cook, craft shops, galleries and supermarkets. The town hosts regular events throughout the year including The Crieff Highland Games and the autumn Drovers Walking Festival and farmers market. Perthshire is well known for outdoor activities for all ages. More strenuous activities in the mountains such as Ben Vorlich, Ben Chonzie and Ben Lawers provide challenging walks. Nearby Loch Earn has water sports as well as mountain biking at nearby Comrie Croft. There are gentle strolls by the riverside along the banks of the River Earn and Turret from the front door and the local park has a children’s play area. Discover the history of Crieff with tales of the outlaws and the Jacobite rebellion, visit historic castles and monuments and if you have been following the TV series ’Outlander’, Drummond Castle gardens are within 5 miles, as are plenty of the locations used in the series, including Doune Castle and Hopetoun House all within driving distance.
